An AR-enabled mobile application

The goal
Among the outcomes of this project will be the AR4ReClothing Mobile App that aims to empower participants in raising awareness about the links between environmental sustainability, waste management, and gender equality. To facilitate an investigation, processing, and publishing of environmental information, an open-source platform will be used as a foundation. The AR4ReClothing Mobile App will be targeted to serve as an eco-app to put technology to work for the environment as it will be based on open-source platforms that are constantly developed and extended by programmers all over the world, thus ensuring the highest degree of sustainability.

The target group
The target audience includes textile professionals who are interested in or already taking steps to achieve environmental sustainability and VET & Textile experts willing to actively participate in an open dialogue about green methods that promote gender equality. Educational institutions with textile/environmental departments, public bodies/authorities, training centers/NGOs that address gender inequalities or take environmental actions, AR developers or those willing to embrace innovative digital solutions for sustainable training purposes and for enhanced learning experiences , Policy makers  and digital agencies

Innovation
The innovation lies in an augmented reality application that will cover clothing upcycling. Additionally, by integrating two open source platforms, AR4ReClothing will become a bespoke open source web platform that will function as a content management system to link environmental objects (clothes, textiles, etc) to content.
Impact
The platform will provide users with access to a variety of environments where they can locate upcycling activities for clothing. Spots can contain multimedia content that provides useful information, as well as reporting tools that show how many project spots were visited. A point system depending on this number will serve as a motivating workflow. Each time the users visit a project area, they will be exposed to different information, which will facilitate their knowledge and skills retention.
